Sinker attachment for halibut?

I have heard several pros and cons on whether to use a sliding swivel sinker attachment or a stationary one for halibut. Does it matter? I am using hoochies and herring on the terminal end. Any recommendations?

I've gone over to Robbo's 3-way corkscrew swivel set-up.
It never tangles and is simpler than a slider.
You snap your mainline into the side, your leader into the other side, hang your sinker from the bottom and catch 'buts! thumbup

The only downside to eliminating the tuna cord is that you have to handle the braid when a fish comes up. I've been running the three way corkscrews for years and they are super easy. Plus when you hang up it's less gear to tie back on ;)

I like the look of that rig Robbo. Do you find a better or worse percentage of hangups with that rig? I imagine its a perfect style when there are no boulders to snag. Then again, no snags will let anything work well lol.

Hey Robby,
What benefits does this rig provide over a spreader bar?
Thx.
